Two days to find out all about the LIFE 2025 program: calls, tips, experiences and opportunities for those who want to make a difference for the environment (and beyond).
Save the date: all online June 24 and 25 for LIFE Info Days 2025
LIFE Info Days Italy 2025, a must-attend event for those who want to apply for the European LIFE program’s calls for proposals, is back again this year. The event will be held online on Tuesday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Organized by the National Contact Point LIFE of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE), the event is designed for public and private entities, NGOs and civil society organizations that want to launch (or relaunch) themselves in European environmental and climate planning.
This is the official event page, with all the details.
Here is the link to register for the event.
During the two days, new features of the LIFE Work Program 2025-2027, LIFE Calls for 2025 will be discussed and live questions can be asked to representatives of the National Contact Point and the Executive Agency responsible for the program. Specifically:
- On the first day, teams from CINEA (the European Climate, Environment and Infrastructure Executive Agency), together with representatives from the LIFE National Contact Point for Italy, will present the main 2025 calls for each subprogram, with concrete examples and practical advice. We offer below a brief summary of the subprograms and opportunities open under the LIFE calls.
- The second day will be devoted to the more operational aspects: how to submit a proposal on the EU Funding & Tender portal, how to deal with the financial part, and especially how to write a LIFE proposal that has a good chance of success. Evaluation criteria, “tips & tricks” to stand out in an increasingly competitive environment will be discussed, and the testimony of the LIFE DESERT-ADAPT project, winner of the “LIFE Award 2025 – Climate,” will be presented.
LIFE Info Days 2025: four subprograms, endless possibilities
The LIFE program is divided into four subprograms, which address four specific dimensions of environmental sustainability:
- Nature and Biodiversity., for projects that protect habitats, species and biodiversity, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy and Natura 2000 Network activities;
- Circular Economy and Quality of Life, for those working on waste, water, air, soil, chemistry and environmental governance;
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation., for projects that reduce emissions and increase resilience to climate change;
- Transition to Clean Energy., for initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and citizen involvement in the energy transition.
A summary of all the 2025 calls can be found on this page of the MASE website:
- Operating Grants (OG), which provide financial support to nonprofit organizations involved in developing, implementing and monitoring compliance with EU environmental, climate and energy transition legislation and policies;.
- Action Grants (Action Grants), subdivided in turn into Standard Action Projects (SAPs), Strategic Nature Conservation Projects (SNaPs), Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs), Technical Assistance Projects for the Preparation of SNaPs and SIPs (TA-PPs), Technical Assistance Projects for Replication (TA-Rs), Projects to Address Legislative Priorities and Ad Hoc Policies (PLPs), and Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs).
LIFE Info Days 2025, an opportunity to be linked (also) to co-financing
We have already talked about the LIFE program at the event sponsored by Fondazione Cariplo on May 16.
On this occasion, LIFE’s National Contact Point had anticipated many of the new features that will be taken up at the upcoming Info Days in June:
- Video of the meeting and presentations of all speakers can be found here;
- A presentation of the LIFE program, the status of its implementation in Italy and news about upcoming calls for proposals can be found here.
Organizations from Lombardy or Piedmont will also be able to count on Fondazione Cariplo’s European Project Cofinancing tool, which this year will cover both environmental projects and cultural entities active in the digital, environmental and social “triple transition.” One more opportunity to build solid and well-funded projects.
Attend the LIFE 2025 Info Days in large numbers:
- To learn more about the 2025 calls of the LIFE program;
- To get practical advice from those who evaluate and monitor projects;
- To hear concrete experiences of success;
- To ask live questions and clarify any doubts.
If you have a “green” idea in your drawer, now is a good time to get it out.
